A tragic incident rocked the Dutch city of Rotterdam on the afternoon of Monday, July 8. At around 5pm, a baby was found in a worrying condition inside a car with Belgian license plates on Vlaardingweg.

After the report was received, emergency services immediately responded to Vlaardingweg en masse. Ambulances and police cars arrived at the scene within minutes.

Despite the rapid and massive deployment of emergency services, resuscitation was tragically useless: the child died at the scene.

According to witnesses, a man (possibly the father) rolled down the window and took the child out of the car. Against ADlearned that the man had locked himself out and therefore had no keys to open the car.

Rotterdam police confirmed that an investigation was underway into the circumstances in which the baby was left inside the grey Audi.
