Automatic system for measuring truck weight to be launched in Astana

The system uses the “Sergek” mechanism. Those who damage the road with overweight loads will automatically receive a notification on their mobile phone about the amount of the fine. This restriction also applies to foreign vehicles. Depending on the increase in weight per axle, the fine ranges from 147,000 tenge to 3.5 million tenge. The relevant person in charge believes that this measure is mainly taken to ensure the long-term durability of the road.
