Gani Sarmayev, Director of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

Automatic measuring stations are installed at the entrances to the capital in the cities of Pavlodar, Karaganda, Kokshetau, Kosh, and the villages of Karaotkol and Malodimofeevka. They are currently in test mode. That is, administrative violations will not be fined. Full connection was achieved in September this year.

The system uses the “Sergek” mechanism. Those who damage the road with overweight loads will automatically receive a notification on their mobile phone about the amount of the fine. This restriction also applies to foreign vehicles. Depending on the increase in weight per axle, the fine ranges from 147,000 tenge to 3.5 million tenge. The relevant person in charge believes that this measure is mainly taken to ensure the long-term durability of the road.

This will help improve the road, first of all. In fact, the road needs to be repaired every five years. Truck drivers are often the ones who break the rules. Trucks carrying construction stones bring losses. If we look at the statistics, 4 billion tenge are violated every month. We will start paying fines from September.
