The anti-narcotics department in Damascus foiled a drug smuggling operation and arrested two people who were smuggling large quantities of drugs.
The Ministry of Interior said in a statement that the Damascus Anti-Drug Department successfully foiled an operation to smuggle a large amount of narcotic pills and arrested a man and a woman who were selling narcotic pills in the Al-Qadam district of Damascus. Damascus, and seized 10,000 Captagon narcotic pills in their clothing bags, ready to be smuggled to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The ministry said that during the investigation of the two arrested persons, they admitted to trafficking and promoting narcotic drugs and smuggling drugs together with hidden persons, noting that necessary measures have been taken against them. They will be referred to the competent judicial bodies.
