Tahiti, August 14, 2024 – The union representing the technical crew of Air Tahiti Nui (ATN) announced this Wednesday in a press release, unrelated to the strike notice issued by the airline last Saturday.
In a press release issued this Wednesday, the unions representing Air Tahiti Nui (ATN) technical crew, including the airline’s pilots, SNPL France ALPA, SPNT ATN and CSTP/FO ATN, announced a call for the union organizations CSTP/FO, CSIP, Otahi and O oe to oe Rima to go on strike for reasons related to flight safety within the company.
They admitted to being upset about the decision as negotiations were already underway and they would meet most of the unions’ demands when they submit their strike notice this Saturday.
“SNPL France ALPA, SPNT ATN and CSTP/FO ATN are fully aware of the need to improve pilots’ working conditions in order to continuously increase flight and passenger safety, and therefore have chosen to support social dialogue before considering measures such as strikes,” They also wrote that they regretted that the strike notice was submitted without prior consultation with the company’s technical flight staff.
The unions have clearly announced that they rule out participation in any social movement and will continue the current negotiations while ensuring the safety of flights and passengers at their level.
