Director Mohamed Gamal Adel was furious and decided to break his silence and tell clearly what happened. The Egyptian director apologized through his account on the social networking site “Facebook” to the friends he invited to the special screening of the film on Wednesday evening.
He stressed that “the screening will not happen,” noting that “the film will not be shown on the agreed date, and no one knows why, explaining that the answer is the artistic work censors.”
Mohammed Adel explained: “The film is ready for release and all stages have been completed, including editing, mixing and color grading, which contradicts the statement made by the film’s producers two days ago that it was postponed due to technical reasons. Efforts are being made to correct this problem.”
The director said: “After months of watching, the film has been approved for screening and has come out specifically for an extra scene.”
He also noted that “the producers spent a lot of money on advertising before the film was uploaded, causing huge financial losses, and considering what happened is the most effective response to those who say that the filmmakers deliberately created noise to promote the film.”
The Egyptian director posted a photo of the screening permit and the script approval. The last page of the script contained the following sentence: “This film never distorts Islam, but exposes some people who interpret the Islamic religion. Islam acts according to their ideas.” The director concluded: “Sooner or later, this idea will be approved.”
