Libreville, Sunday, August 25, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – The Board of Directors of the Gabon Energy and Water Company (SEEG) met recently in Libreville. One of the main points discussed by managers was the improvement of services for the benefit of the people, in particular the provision of water and electricity to all customers.

It should be stressed that this measure is fully in line with the action plan of the new authorities in the country. In fact, General Brice Clotaire Origi Nguema is keen on improving the living conditions of his compatriots at home and abroad. “Water is life!” », reveals an African proverb, that is, without sesame there is no life.

Furthermore, SEEG recently strengthened the capacity of drinking water production units in the Greater Libreville area, but it turns out that certain working-class neighborhoods in the capital are deprived of the precious liquid, which has almost become a scarce commodity, especially the cases from Soduco, Kinguelé, Belles Peintures, PK6, PK8, Alibandeng, Ondongo, Aoungou.

Residents of these communities carry buckets, cans and basins and trek for kilometres to reach public water pumps. The worst part is that sometimes the liquid starts flowing around 4am, which can cause safety issues.

Some areas of Greater Libreville were without drinking water for days and it is great that the SEEG Board of Directors decided to start afresh on a new basis, rooting out the mafia activities orchestrated by some of its agents, which would not tarnish the reputation of the organization and the corporate image.
