Mbabane: As the saying goes, “a clean space reflects a clean heart”, about 30 volunteers from ASEZ WAO (Young Workers Volunteer Group of World Mission Society Church of God) came together on Sunday, August 11 to clean up a part of Sidvwashini.
The team, made up of Swazi and Korean volunteers, worked together to collect more than 50 bags of rubbish from Mbongweni Avenue to Somlolo Avenue. The volunteers said they practiced their love for people and the earth with a motherly heart.
ASEZ WAO stands for “Save the Earth from A to Z — We Are One Family,” and advocates the idea of ”Let’s save the Earth from A to Z as one family.” Since its founding in 2017, the organization has made great strides in fulfilling the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through environmental and social activities, and has received numerous honors, such as the Presidential Volunteer Service Award and the prestigious Green Apple Environmental Award.
The Church of God volunteer group shows love for the earth through good deeds, aiming to shine the light of good consciousness in the Kingdom by practicing Christ’s words to “love your neighbor as yourself.” “The clean-up was a collaborative effort that brought members of our church together to serve others. Throughout the day, we worked tirelessly to not only clean the physical space but also to strengthen the connections within our community,” said Sihle Nhleko, one of the volunteers.
The Mbabane Municipal Council supported the volunteer activity and expressed the Municipal Council’s willingness to work with organizations such as ASEZ WAO to make the world a better place.
