Old Abraham Heman, deputy provincial governor of Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Party Chairman Znabu Abera, told Voice that Znabu Abera was taken away from his office in March last year and is currently in jail and is being treated for heart problems and other ailments in several hospitals in the United States.
They confirmed they were not present at today’s hearing due to illness. The trial came as lawyers for nine people, including him, arrested during the state of emergency appealed against the court’s decision to give police extra time to investigate.
On the other hand, four persons, including three mass media professionals who were arrested under the emergency decree and are yet to be tried, filed a lawsuit through their lawyers seeking the release of the body.
