Arc Raiders returns to Gamescom with release window

After a long period of silence, Embarc Studios, the development team behind the upcoming PvPvE evacuation shooter Arc Raiders, finally showed us some signs of life on their new project during Gamescom Opening Night on Tuesday, August 20th.

In a new cinematic trailer, Arc Riders revealed that the first technical test will soon be carried out on PC so that players can experience this new solution first.

In this game, players escape from the machines and take refuge in Speranza’s underground colony, where they must risk their lives to obtain resources and survive as the demand for them reaches its maximum.

Whether playing as a team or solo, this game rewards you foresight and careful observation of the world around you, rather than rushing to shoot left and right. The gameplay feels detailed, touching, and authentic, and in addition to weapons and ammunition, there is a rich and interesting sandbox of gadgets and tools.

Arc Raiders is no longer free to play

Arc Raiders was supposed to be a free-to-play game when it was first released a few years ago, but Embarc Studios decided to change its business model and turn it into a $40 premium game.

“You may remember that ARC Raiders was a free-to-play game. Today we are announcing that ARC Raiders will be available as a $40 premium game. There are many reasons for this change, and they all come down to our belief that the premium business model is a better fit for the type of game we are creating. The premium model allows us to create a more focused, balanced, and engaging action-survival experience,” said Aleksander Gröndal, the game’s executive producer. Via his blog on Steam.
