The Arab Center for Arid Zones and Dry Lands Studies (ACSAD) and the Special Union of Jordanian Beekeepers have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at promoting the development of beekeeping in Jordan and the Arab country, increasing and developing rural poverty, in addition to achieving social, economic and vital development of the agricultural sector.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Nasr Al-Din Al-Obaid, Director General of ACSAD, and Engineer Moaz Subhi Kazem, Chairman of the Jordanian Beekeepers’ Specific Union, at the ACSAD headquarters in the presence of delegations from both sides.

Dr. Obeid stressed that the memorandum aims to unify the joint scientific and technological efforts and expertise of both parties in the development of agricultural scientific research in the Arab region. He explained that the memorandum aims to coordinate the efforts of the two teams in leading the development of research and studies in the field of mechanisms that will help Jordanian bees adapt to climate change, reduce its impact on Jordan’s agricultural production sector, contribute to the implementation of various parts of the Arab project to eliminate the effects of climate change, as well as to work together to modernize the models and mechanisms of bee production in Jordan.

He also stressed the need for coordination and cooperation between the two sides to serve and develop the sector for all Arab countries, especially the Kingdom, by qualifying Jordanian technical cadres in the field of beehive management technology and using the latest methods in the framework to exchange scientific and technological information and data in a manner that is in the interest of the teams and scientific journals.

Engineer Moaz Sobhi Kazem stressed that the signing of the memorandum is a new beginning of the cooperation process between the two sides, and both sides will benefit from the Arab expertise in their interests, as it has proven to be highly efficient in all areas. It is committed to promoting the development of science, research and agriculture.
