Approved the establishment of Wasit Housing Town and refused to convert the land into a residential area

The Prime Minister’s Media Office said in a statement received by Al-Sumaria News that the meeting reviewed the investment documents of Wasit Governorate, in line with the government’s vision of building a new city, and approved the establishment of the “New Wasit Residential City”, including the allocation of land for serviced housing, in which the developer will undertake the creation of infrastructure, service agencies and management services for the real estate in the private sector and sell it at low cost to the categories of citizens determined in accordance with the government’s vision to solve the housing crisis.

The statement said that the committee decided to reject the request to transform a plot of land with an area of ​​77 dunams in Diwaniya Governorate (3/6 Umm Al Khail District) into a Diwaniya Investment Residential Area. The Authority is responsible for announcing investment opportunities to establish a recreational project with modern, high-level planning and activities on the above-mentioned plot, so that it can become a civilized recreational area that meets the needs of the citizens of the governorate, in accordance with the applicable investment law, within the framework of expanding domestic tourism activities.

The committee also issued a series of decisions that will expand investment in various economic sectors, increase private sector participation, create jobs and support development in various sectors, the statement said.
