Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at Tianfeng International Securities who is known as the “strongest Apple analyst,” posted on a social platform that Apple will release multiple artificial BroadCast Unitedligence (AI) features and believes that after WWDC, it will no longer be regarded as a laggard in the AI industry. However, he believes that it is unlikely that Apple will use AI to increase product sales in the short term.

He mentioned that the rise in Apple’s stock price in the past few weeks reflects the market’s expectation that Apple can redefine the user behavior of device-side AI and drive a hardware replacement trend. He expects that AI will be ubiquitous in Apple’s major applications, fully demonstrating its user interface design advantages. New AI services are expected to include: significant improvement in Siri experience; AI-enhanced applications (translation, search, photo editing, word processing, etc.); integration of chatbots such as ChatGPT to enhance network search services; integration of chatbots or AI within applications, which can be used without switching to the browser.

In summary, Kuo Ming-Chi believes that the device-side large language model is unlikely to exceed market expectations due to the 8GB DRAM limitation of the iPhone 16; in the long run, Apple’s investment in AI will help drive hardware replacement and service business, but in the short term it is not easy to see significant help to revenue and profits.
