The U.S. political news website Politico quoted people familiar with the matter as reporting that the U.S. Department of Justice is investigating the acquisition of AI startup “Run:ai” by artificial intelligence (AI) chip giant Nvidia on antitrust grounds.
A Nvidia spokesman said the company will continue to support aspiring innovators across industries and markets and is happy to provide any information regulators require.
In April this year, technology media Tech Crunch quoted sources as reporting that Nvidia acquired Run:ai for approximately US$700 million (approximately HK$5.46 billion).
Run:ai’s technology enables developers and teams to manage and optimize AI infrastructure.
