Nassau | The Bahamas News Agency has learned that police are investigating the drowning death of an adult male that occurred on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Jaws Beach on West Road.
According to preliminary reports, police said the victim, a 40-year-old man, was found around 8 p.m.
No response, drowning in water.
Other beachgoers helped him to shore and performed CPR on him. After emergency services arrived, he was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead by the attending doctor. It is believed that the man may have suffered a heart attack while swimming.
The police are continuing to investigate the incident further.
