The medical staff of the Uwea Ulupu Health Center went on strike this Wednesday morning. All condemned the attack that took place at the residence of a doctor during the night of Monday to Tuesday. In support, the Provincial Directorate of Community Action and Social Action decided to close the two pharmacies on the island on Thursday and Friday.

The Ouloup pharmacy will remain closed tomorrow, Thursday, July 18 and Friday, July 19. The decision was taken by the provincial Directorate of Community Action and Social Action (Dacas) after a doctor was attacked at his residence between Monday and Tuesday night. The same applies to the Saint-Joseph pharmacy in the north of the island.

But despite this, staff will still be on hand to interact with residents. “This is to commemorate this moment. said Marie-Rose Waïa, Director General of Dacas. We do not want to trivialize violence. Close the pharmacy for consultation and allow communication between the public and staff.”

For Dacas services, the message is simple, “We need everyone to protect our tools”Marie-Rose Vaya concluded:Doctors are there to take care of people.”
