PUEBLA, Puebla. (apro).- Alejandro Armenta Mier received this Sunday the majority certificate after winning the Puebla gubernatorial elections on June 2 with the largest number of votes in the political history of this entity.
According to the final vote count, the card-carrying senator received 1,000,908,954 votes, representing 59.52% of the electoral preferences.
In his first speech after being elected governor, Amenta Mir said that from now on, the competition stage is over and the construction of a new governance system begins.
“We have to establish a new system of governance starting December 14,” he said.
He announced that he would propose a reform of the Organic Law on Public Administration, merge several secretariats, and create a Secretariat for Sports and Youth, a Secretariat for Arts and Culture, and a University of Science and Technology.
He assured that the transition to the government of Salomon Céspedes Peregrine would be done in a “respectful and cordial” manner.
Furthermore, he said in his first message that he would work to establish “the best possible relationship between the governor and the media.”
