Vice President Kamala Harris She gave a speech accepting the Democratic presidential nomination at the closing ceremony of the Democratic National Convention on Thursday.
In her pitch to voters, Harris listed a series of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Some of the attacks on Trump are based on misinterpretations of the former president’s platform and policies, while others are simply false.
Trump and the 2025 plan
“We know what a second Trump term would look like,” Harris told Democrats on Thursday. “It’s all laid out in Plan 2025, which was drafted by his closest advisers, and the overall purpose of it is to take our country back to the way it was. But America, we are not going back.”

The bill has been portrayed as a blueprint for a future Republican administration to reorganize many parts of the U.S. government. 2025 Projectalso known as the Presidential Transition Project, was launched in April 2023 and has no direct connection to Trump’s campaign.
The Trump campaign never endorsed the Heritage Foundation — though several former members of the Trump administration did contribute to the document.
“They know I had nothing to do with it,” Trump told “Fox & Friends” on Thursday. “I have absolutely no idea what that is. It was a group of people that got together. They set some conservative values, very conservative values, and in some cases, they may have crossed the line. Maybe not. I don’t know what Program 25 is.”
Trump campaign spokeswoman Danielle Alvarez told Fox News Digital last month that “Agenda 47 and President Trump’s Republican National Committee platform are the only policies endorsed by President Trump in a second term,” and accused Democrats of “lying and fear-mongering” by linking the platform to the former president.
Social Security and Medicare
Harris claimed in her DNC speech: “When you read (the 2025 plan), you’ll see that – Donald Trump is going to cut Social Security and Medicare.”
The 2025 policy plan does not advocate cutting social Security.

Trump himself made inconsistent statements about Social Security policy early in his campaign. and medical insuranceAnd he indicated that he was willing to make major changes to the system, claiming that “a lot can be done in terms of benefits and cuts.”
His spokeswoman Carolyn Levitt told NBC News earlier this year that “President Trump will continue to vigorously protect Social Security and Medicare in a second term.”
Since the beginning of 2024, Trump has insisted on not cutting either program.
His official policy platform now states that he intends to “fight for and protect Social Security and Medicare without any spending cuts, including no changes to the retirement age.”
He also proposed not to tax Social Security benefits.
Abortion is banned nationwide
“With or without Congress, (Trump) and his allies will restrict access to birth control, ban medication, outlaw abortion, and enact a nationwide abortion ban,” Harris said in her speech.
The Trump campaign has repeatedly reiterated that a future administration intends to leave decisions on abortion policy to the states.
After overturning the ruling, the US government plans to abandon the issue of abortion Roe v. Wade Reflected in the official Republican Party Platform Published last month.

“We believe that the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States guarantees that no person shall be deprived of life or liberty without due process of law, and that the states are free to enact laws to protect these rights,” the draft bill reads.
However, for the first time in 40 years, the document does not mention federal Abortion banTrump stressed that he opposed the move.
Instead, the new platform emphasizes, “We will oppose late-term abortion while supporting mothers and policies that promote prenatal care, contraception, and IVF (fertility treatment).”
