American actress Alicia Silverstone felt the need to announce last night that she is still alive after she posted a video on TikTok of herself biting into unfamiliar berries she found on the street, sparking some debate in the online world over concerns for her health.
“I feel something I don’t know what it is and I need your help,” Silverstone said in the video, but she was in London at the time. She showed a berry she saw on the street and told Silverstone that she and her companions asked her if it was some kind of tomato. Then she took a bite of the berry.
In Silverstone’s video, you can see the bush where the berries have fallen, and to the actress’s botanically knowledgeable fans, the berries appear to be on the move. Jerusalem Cherry (Solanumpseudocapsicum)but it is an ornamental shrub in the nightshade family and its berries are poisonous to humans and most animals.
The actress’s behavior was not at all worrisome, as she did not comment on social media that day, leading to speculation that the berries may have become a sign of her age.
Silverstone then decided to address these concerns with a post on Instagram, in which she simply declared that she was alive and well.
“Don’t worry, I didn’t swallow,” said the actress, best known for her role in the ’10s teen hit Clueless.
