Algiers, August 23, 2024– The Algiers provincial authorities announced on Thursday that a Part of National Highway 1in both directions (Algiers-Blida and Blida-Algiers), from evening Friday August 23, 2024 1am to Sunday, August 25 5 AM
This measure is necessary to carry out the installation work of the overpass (RN63/RN01) beam Soula – Birkhadem.
According to a news release from the provincial government, the work will take place during the following times:
- Friday Night August 23, 2024 : 1am to 7am
- Saturday Night August 24, 2024 : 1am to 6am
- Sunday Night August 25, 2024 : 1am to 5am

Traffic on National Highway 1 will be diverted in both directions as follows:
- From Algiers to Blida : Traffic will be diverted from the Tixeraïne entrance via the Central Avenue Central entrance to Bir Khadem, then to the RN63 bridge and then to National Road 1.
- From Blida to Algiers : Traffic will be diverted to the right towards the roundabout near Malek Bennabi Mosque (Djenane El Afia) and onto National Road 1.
“The Algiers Provincial Authorities apologize for the inconvenience caused by the temporary closure and invite road users to use alternative roads while strictly observing road signs,” the press release concluded.

These major works may cause traffic disruptions. Therefore, motorists should exercise extreme caution and follow signage instructions.
