According to Al Ceride, US officials secretly flew to Iran via Ankara, where they negotiated with Tehran’s intelligence services.
The main topic of those talks was preventing a possible Iranian attack on Israel following a warning from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Secret flights and important meetings
According to Kuwaiti newspaper Al Ceride, the US delegation flew to Iran on a special plane last Thursday. The plane landed in the city of Karan near Tehran, where a two-hour important meeting was held with Iranian intelligence and foreign affairs teams.
A warning to Netanyahu
During the meeting, US officials reportedly warned Iran not to fall into the “Netanyahu trap.” As they reported, Netanyahu is seeking a major regional war and the destruction of Iran. “Netanyahu is out of control,” they said.
List of Mossad agents
As a goodwill gesture, the US delegation presented the Iranians with a list of Mossad agents. They stressed that they understood Iran’s need to respond for reputational reasons, but urged them to avoid escalation. Moreover, they stressed that an immediate nuclear deal with the Biden administration would be the biggest blow to Netanyahu, given that Trump would be in a difficult position to maneuver.
Peace Guarantee
U.S. officials also expressed to Iranian President Joe Biden their desire to avoid war with Iran. They stressed that while they would defend Israel if it was attacked, they did not want a large-scale war. The U.S. delegation said Netanyahu’s hostile attitude toward Iran did not share the Biden administration’s views.
