GRASS VALLEY, Calif. (June 10, 2024) – Ahead of InfoComm 2024 in Las Vegas, AJA Video Systems Announce Ki Pro GO2the next generation of its Ki Pro GO multi-channel HD/SD recorder. The portable, 2RU device has an upgraded feature set, enabling up to four channels of H.265 (HEVC) or H.264 (AVC) recording simultaneously to cost-effective USB 3.0 drives or network storage, with redundant recording and single-channel playback capabilities. The Ki Pro GO2 helps production professionals produce higher quality images at lower bitrates for longer recording times. It also offers flexible connectivity, including four 3G-SDI and four HDMI digital video inputs, so they can connect to a variety of video sources. The device will be demonstrated at AJA’s InfoComm booth (C8321) from June 12-14, 2024.

The Ki Pro GO2 has a rich feature set for reliable, high-performance recording and playback in a variety of environments, from concert tours and sporting events to houses of worship, universities and more. Simple to set up and operate, it features a high-definition display for precise monitoring; video monitoring and menu/status overlays with an on-screen keyboard; dedicated record, play, stop, rewind, and fast-forward buttons; and a standard Ethernet LAN connection for remote configuration and control of the unit over the network from any web browser using the Ki Pro GO2’s intuitive web user interface (UI).
An integrated input frame synchronizer ensures that users do not need to genlock the incoming video signal, while a high-quality deinterlacer on each input allows progressive recording from interlaced inputs. Multi-channel matrix monitoring facilitates monitoring of multiple camera signals on a single HDMI or SDI display. Flexible audio capabilities support capturing up to two channels of embedded audio from 3G-SDI or HDMI inputs, or two channels of analog audio from the XLR ports, each channel offering a choice of line, microphone, or +48V phantom power for level control. One of the unit’s analog audio inputs can also serve as a source for longitudinal time code (LTC) insertion.
Recording with the Ki Pro GO2 is convenient and affordable because it supports a variety of Off-the-shelf USB media. Ki Pro GO2 can also record live to network storage via an Ethernet connection, and supports FAT or exFAT file systems for cross-platform use when transferring files to workstations, servers, etc. Multi-channel recording ensures each input is recorded individually, so users can drag and drop files directly from a USB drive into their favorite creative software, and “group recording” is also supported. Clip names are logically laid out, and channels and backups are automatically attached to simplify data management. Enhanced Super Out provides timecode overlay, per-channel audio VU meters and media remaining percentage on SDI and HDMI monitor outputs. The unit can also play back HEVC/AVC files created in supported third-party creative applications.
