The women’s handball crisis, which was caused by the objections of the clubs Disso, Diamono, Jaggi Sarr and Toubakouta to Article 27 of the Special Regulations, was resolved with the mediation of the president of the Senegalese Handball Federation (FSHB).
The dissenting clubs will not be relegated but will have to play two late games (days 9 and 11) and lose on day 10. The four clubs in protest will have their games rescheduled for day 12. The dates for days 9 and 11 must now be determined by the federation.
The extraordinary measures taken by the Federal Office made it possible to resolve the crisis through mediation. The mediation committee recommended rescheduling Day 9 and cancelling the economic sanctions that had been in place since the start of the season. The package for Day 10 remains valid.
The mediation committee also defended the retention of eight teams in the first division for the 2024/2025 season, while allowing the rise of D2 teams. Any disruption to future matches will be severely punished. Diso, Diamono, Jagi Sar and Tubakuta still have two games to go.
