Senegal continues to dream big for the 2024 Paris Olympics, and athlete Saly Sarr has just added a star to that hope. Qualifying through the world rankings, the triple jump specialist brings to 11 the number of Senegalese athletes representing their country in this prestigious competition.
African triple jump champion Sally Sarr won the title in Cameroon in 2024. She is ranked 15th in the world in this event and has earned her ticket to Paris thanks to the “Road to Paris” world ranking. This qualification occurred despite not having the required minimum. Senegal will proudly send 11 athletes competing in 7 different events to the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The delegation, which includes athletes from athletics, canoeing, judo, fencing and taekwondo, aims to make history and add another medal to Senegal’s record, following Amadou Dia Ba’s medal at the Seoul Olympics in 1988. Diouf also qualified through the world rankings and will represent Senegal in athletics.
