Santo Domingo RD – The National Electoral Commission of the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) officially kicks off the campaign for the union elections to be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
These elections are crucial in renewing the leadership and leadership of the ADP in the country.
In the process, more than 141,000 teachers will elect 2,989 leaders who will form the new leadership for the period 2024-2027.
Gilberto Almonte, president of the National Electoral Committee of the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP), said that the positions to be elected include 21 members of the National Executive Committee, five members of the National Disciplinary Court, five members of the Dominican Teachers Council and 31 national leaders.
Gilberto Almonte urged all ADP members to comply with the established requirements and submit their lists of candidates.
The voting will be conducted by universal referendum, two-tier separate voting, spread across more than 300 tables in 174 union-approved panels from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. More than six panels are expected to participate in the process, each with a unique national and departmental candidate number.
