The film project is about The Beatles Keep going and may have found the face who will bring life to the legendary Liverpool quartet. SnyderAcclaimed director Sam Mendes is embarking on an ambitious plan to make four films about the most influential rock band of all time.

The feature films, which will tell the band’s story from the personal perspectives of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, will be released worldwide in 2027. Sony Pictures Entertainment has described the approach as “revolutionary” for storytelling in cinema.

Who will play the Beatles in their film?

The actors chosen to play the iconic musicians include Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr and Charlie Rowe as George Harrison. The casting includes some of the most engaging and talented actors working today.

The list has sparked both excitement and skepticism among fans and critics. While some have questioned whether these actors are “too attractive” for the roles, others have pointed out that the goal of a biopic is to capture the essence of the subject, not necessarily their exact appearance.

Sam Mendes will direct and produce the biopic through his company Neil Street Productions, along with Pippa Harris and Julie Pastor. In addition, Jeff Jones, CEO of Apple, which was founded by the Beatles themselves, will serve as an executive producer on the project. Mendes, known for films such as Skyfall and 1917, said it was an opportunity to challenge the concept of watching movies.

The Beatles Movie Promises to Be a Big Thing

“Sam Mendes’ bold, large-scale idea promises to be culturally seismic,” said Tom Rothman, president and CEO of Sony Pictures. “It combines his state-of-the-art filmmaking equipment with music and the story of four young people changing the world.”

“I’m honored to tell the story of the greatest rock band of all time and excited to challenge the concept of a cinematic journey,” said Mendes. One of the most remarkable aspects of the project is the full cooperation of Apple Corps Ltd. and the families of the living Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, and the late John Lennon and George Harrison.
