CHICAGO | There may be more to the circumstances that led to the disappearance of Chicago transgender woman Cathy Taylor than Bahamian police are letting on.
Sources inside Chicago told the Bahamas News Service that Taylor suffered from mental problems, including episodic suicidal depression.
Taylor was declared missing on June 20 after the yoga retreat’s operators found her tent empty and she did not attend the ceremony. The Chicago resident was last seen on June 19.
Strangely enough, 11 years ago, Houston, Texas resident Wesley Bell, 41, also disappeared from this yoga retreat. He was never found.
According to the yoga studio, Taylor, now 41, left of her own accord. How did they know?
Taylor’s cellphone was found in the sea near the facility, but her passport has not been found.
Why did this transgender woman go to the ashram alone, knowing that she was suicidal?
