ABU Sports offers four members free tickets to YHYA Charity Cup Season 2
ABU’s first collaboration with the Asian Esports Federation (AESF) has successfully hosted the YHYA Charity Cup for four members. The two-day event attracted teams from five Central Asian countries: Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Four Asian Broadcasting Union member broadcasters from Afghanistan, Myanmar, Indonesia and Cambodia broadcast the event free-to-air on their national television networks and digital streaming platforms, with commentary in English and Russian.
Kazakhstan defeated Turkmenistan in the semifinals and Uzbekistan in the final to win the championship. The total prize pool is US$6,000, which the winner will use to support women’s development and community projects in their country.
The collaboration strengthens the partnership between esports and traditional media channels, expanding the exposure of esports to different audiences in the Asia-Pacific region.
