About 240 students were admitted to Ntare Louisenlund School

Recently, the school’s management announced that it has launched a project to teach high-level science and technology courses in East Africa.

The course will be delivered through the “Plus-STEM” curriculum, giving students the opportunity to learn by implementing projects that respond to current issues, thereby helping them become researchers and consultants prepared to face the problems of the twenty-first century.

The announcement stated that in September 2024, 240 exceptionally gifted students in Mathematics, Science and Technology (STEM) subjects who achieved the best results in the primary school final examinations will have the opportunity to bid for admission to the Louis Lund Lions Club School next academic year.

When the Primary and Ordinary Level Examination results were announced on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, MINEDUC announced that they had selected 240 students who performed well in these examinations.

Ntare Louisenlund School is the school for the heads of state of Rwanda and Uganda

Rwanda’s Minister of Education, Gaspard Twagirayezu, said Ntare Louisenlund School, a school built by the Rwandan government, will be launched in Bugesera District and will start as an international project.

“It’s not common for schools built by the government to have this program otherwise, but this is the school we want to go to, to include students from Rwanda and the region and others, but we also have programs in place where there will be students who get help from the government to go to school,” he said.

“Since it is a school that teaches technology, one of the criteria we require is that students must have good math scores. We selected 240 more students than other schools, which means we did not have to worry about finding students with good math scores,” Yunzemo said.

Some of the children who were admitted said they were glad that the country had given them this opportunity and were ready to make good use of it.

This is a school built by the Rwandan government and will start as an international project.

Vanessa Mahirwe Kazubwenge, who studies at Espoire de la Avenir in Bugesera district, became the fifth child in the country to successfully pass the final primary school examinations.

He said: “I welcome it because since we found out it was open we felt it was our dream to come here to hunt and we hope to continue to be successful because we know it is an institution that teaches very well and has good teachers. After school I want to be a pilot. “

His friend said: “I am very happy to be one of those who can study at Ntare Louisenlund School because it is an excellent institution where President Paul Kagame studied and I also want to study.”

The Ministry of Education will offer scholarships to 80 Rwandan students who will be eligible to study Grade 7 or “Year 7” (equivalent to Year 1 of secondary school) at Ntare Louisenlund School from September 2024. The student who receives the scholarship will continue to receive it until he completes his studies at this school, as long as his grades continue to allow him to transfer.

The school covers an area of ​​more than 40 hectares

The construction of Ntare Louisenlund High School started in 2019 and is located in Musagara Village, Kanazi Cell, Nyamata District, Bugesera District, covering over 40 hectares.

This is an international school with a capacity of 1,100 boarding students. It has 35 classrooms, each accommodating 30 students, and 5 science laboratories.

This school of thought, whose members are members of the Ntare School in Uganda, includes Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of Uganda from 1962 to 1966, and Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda from 1972 to 1976.
