The Malta Chamber of SMEs has announced that its chief executive, Abigail Agius Mamo, will step down.
Agius Mamo has been an integral part of the SME Chamber for the past 17 years and has served as its chief executive for the past 10 years, the chamber said on Tuesday.
One of her key achievements as CEO was steering the organisation through the COVID-19 pandemic. “The organisation’s gold standard handling of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic won recognition across the EU and was awarded the EU Citizens’ Solidarity Award.”
Agius Mamo Last He was interviewed by MaltaToday in February last year. Among other topics, she has spoken out on reducing the value-added tax to 15.5%, government intervention in the free market, and energy subsidies.
The Chamber said: “As CEO, Ms Agius Mamo has carried out her duties with passion, inspiring the team she has assembled to work towards the continued growth and development of the organisation, building trust and providing a very credible voice for Malta’s SMEs to effectively influence opinion and policy.”
The President, Board and staff of the Malta Chamber of SMEs expressed their gratitude to Agius Mamo for her excellent service and leadership and wished her the best in her future endeavours.
