In the Triton Podcast rankings for May, ABC News Top Stories was the number one news podcast and ABC SPORT Daily was the number one digital-first sports podcast.
ABC News Top Stories has maintained its No. 3 spot since entering the list last month. ABC also has the No. 2 news podcast, ABC News Daily, which rose four spots to No. 11 on the list, gaining 16,000 listeners.
ABC SPORT Daily is Australia’s number one digital-first sports podcast, rising three spots to number 27.
This month, ABC has three podcasts in the top 20, including The Conversation at #8.
ABC is the third-ranked publisher with 29 podcasts on this month’s list, a position it has held for six months since joining the rankings in December.
“This month we’re celebrating six months of being the number one contributor to the Australian podcast charts, contributing more shows than any other publisher,” said Ben Latimer, head of ABC audio.
“When it comes to news and sports, ABC remains the undisputed leader. ABC News Stream, ABC News Daily and ABC Sports Daily continue to dominate the list in May.”
The Australian Podcast Charts is a monthly publication of the most popular podcasts in Australia. The charts have been reporting on podcast listening in Australia since 2019 and cover a broad swath of Australian podcast publishers from both broadcast and non-broadcast backgrounds.
