Two new drivers in Mercer County have received commercial driver’s licenses thanks to a partnership between: New Jersey African American Chamber of Commerce and Driving School In Jackson.

This milestone is a significant achievement for both the graduates and the AACCNJ Institute of Training and Development.

Willie Green is one of six TDI graduates from the Driving Academy, a program that highlights AACCNJ’s commitment to empowering individuals through education and skills development.

The AACCNJ says it is fostering an environment of inclusion and economic growth by supporting socially and economically disenfranchised individuals to enter and excel in the transportation industry.

“AACCNJ continues to work to build ‘people, partnerships and policies’ that can have an impact in our communities locally, across the state and across the nation. We are committed to creating opportunities that lead to sustainable economic growth and empowerment,” said Vivian Harmon, AACCNJ Senior Director of TDI. “Graduates like Willie Green inspire us to keep going, knowing that every success story strengthens our mission.”

Green is an outstanding graduate. He originally enrolled in the CDL program earlier this year. Despite challenges that caused him to temporarily withdraw from the program, Green returned to the program in April, determined to complete his training. His dedication to obtaining his CDL license and desire to become an owner-operator of his own company exemplifies tenacity and entrepreneurial spirit.
