GRAND BAHAMAR ISLAND | The Bahamas Media has received reports that Grand Bahama Police have launched a search for an adult male who went missing while fishing near Gold Rock Creek on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

It is reported that two male relatives were fishing along the Jinyan Creek. The two separated at around 7:00 a.m. and originally planned to return to the separation point at 9:30 a.m. However, as the tide rose and the water conditions deteriorated, only one male returned to the separation point.

The bodies of the victims were later found near the old missile base in the Freetown area.

This is the second drowning in a few days. The first drowning occurred on Saturday at Dean’s Blue Hole on Long Island, where Douglas McCarty died while diving. He was also a fisherman and skilled diver. His remains were buried 600 feet deep in the Blue Hole. May their souls rest in peace.

We report yinner’s decision!
