Witness Alfusainey Dari testified before Judge E. Jaiteh of the Banjul High Court that he was a driver at the Diouloulou garage in Casamance where the accused Ousainou Bojang got on the bus to Zinguinchor.

Defence counsel LJ Darboe told the witness that everything he said was a fabrication except the fact that the accused had been to Diouloulou. But the witness responded that everything he said in court was what he saw and heard.

Lawyer Dabo pointed out to the witness that Usanu did not tell him anything except that he told him about a Muslim monk who would repair his (the accused) relationship with his white lady.

The witness further testified that he did not know Mama Jabbi, the Islamic cleric who was the third prosecution witness, but the defence counsel told him that he knew Mama Jabbi because he introduced Ousainou Bojang to her as an Islamic cleric.

However, the witness denied knowing Mama Jabbi but confirmed knowing the landlord where Mama Jabbi lived.

Defense attorney Dabo read out a portion of a witness statement in which he said he knew the mother. But the witness said what Dabo read out was different from what he told police, adding that the defense attorney may have been the one who wrote the statement.

Counsel LJ Darboe further read out the witness’ statement in which the witness stated that he boarded a motorcycle and went to where Mama Jabbi lived.

This was corroborated by an eyewitness, Alfusainey Dari, as he rode a motorcycle to where the fortune teller lived.

The witness also stated in his testimony that Mama Jabi did not ask him to call the gendarmerie. But the defense lawyer read that the witness initially stated in his testimony that Mama Jabi had asked him to notify the gendarmerie.

PW13 also stated that the landlady told him that he should inform the military but he said he would inform the military police.
