According to Palestinian resistance sources and Israeli media reports, many Israeli soldiers were killed and wounded in the Gaza Strip today.

Earlier in the day, Qassam Brigades announced that it had carried out a “complex ambush” in the Tell Sultan neighborhood west of Rafah city, where Qassam Brigades fighters “attacked four Zionist Merkava tanks with 105 Yassin shells and an M113 armored personnel carrier with a suicide bomber and 105 Yassin shells.”

“The seven soldiers wounded today in Rafah were hit by a grenade after a resistance fighter managed to infiltrate them,” the newspaper Novaya Gazeta reported.

Here are the latest statements from Gaza’s two main resistance forces and the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah.

Qassam Brigades (Hamas)

“Qassam militants detonated a lethal weapon against Zionist armed forces stationed in a building, killing or injuring them. Clashes are continuing and armed forces have infiltrated the eastern part of the Farahin area, east of the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.

“Qassam militants detonated two anti-personnel and anti-vehicle explosive devices against an engineering unit in the Zarata area east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, killing and injuring the engineers.

“Qassam militants engaged a force of nine Zionist infantrymen at close range, killing and wounding them east of the Farahin area east of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.

“Qassam Brigades fired a Yassin 105 shell at a D9 military bulldozer located east of the Al-Farahin area east of Khan Younis city in the southern Gaza Strip.

“In the Tal Hawa neighborhood in southern Gaza City, Qassam militants detonated an anti-personnel Ra’adiya explosive device against a Zionist infantry unit next to an armored personnel carrier, killing and wounding them.

“Qassam militants succeeded in detonating the entrance to a tunnel buried by the Zionist engineering corps, killing and wounding its members in the Zarata area east of the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

“In a complex ambush in the Tal Sultan neighborhood west of Rafah city, Qassam militants attacked four Zionist Merkava tanks with Al-Yassin 105 shells and an M113 personnel carrier with guerrilla explosive devices and Al-Yassin 105 shells. Our fighters saw helicopters landing for evacuation.”

“In support of the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their heroic and glorious resistance, the Islamic Resistance Movement carried out a series of operations on Monday, August 5, 2024, against the positions and deployments of Israeli enemy forces on the Lebanese-Palestinian border, as follows:

Israel under attack: Hezbollah drone strike injures Israeli soldiers

1. “Using a squadron of attack drones, an air strike was launched against the newly established headquarters of the 91st Division in the “Ayelet” military camp, targeting the positions and settlements of the officers and soldiers of the division, causing direct hits and heavy casualties, in retaliation for attacks and assassinations carried out by the Israeli enemy in the towns of Bazuliyah, Deir el-Seriyan and Houla.

2. At 8:15, an attack drone aimed at the Malikiye location and hit the target accurately.

3. At 10:05, artillery shells were fired at the Ramim barracks.

4. At 12:40, artillery shells were fired at the Zarit Barracks.

5. At 12:50, heavy artillery shells were fired at the Rasnakulla Naval Base.

6. At 1805 hours, rocket fire was directed at Israeli enemy artillery positions in Khirbet Ma’ar.

7. At 1900 hours, artillery shells were fired at the Zebudin barracks in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms area.

8. An airstrike was launched using a fleet of attack drones against the Neriah Mountain base (a command post currently occupied by the Golani forces), targeting the positions of its officers and soldiers, accurately hitting the target and causing confirmed casualties, in retaliation for the attacks by the Israeli enemy on the villages of the resolute south, in particular the assassination carried out in the cemetery of the town of Mays al-Jabbar.
