Russian officials and media reported on Friday that Ukraine A bridge over the Seim River in the village of Glushkova, Kursk Oblast, was destroyed as a result of a military strike.

The Ukrainian-held bridgehead is east of Glushkov, and the Shem River in this part of Kursk Oblast flows westward through Glushkov and Zvanoy to the Russian-Ukrainian border.

Acting Kursk Oblast Governor Alexey Smirnov confirmed on the Telegram platform that the bridge had been destroyed.

Moscow propaganda group TASS cited sources as saying parts of the Glushkova district would be removed from the evacuation operation as a result of the incident.

Russian troops apparently use the bridges as logistical routes.

Sirskis: Ukrainians advance another 1-3 km in the Kursk region

The commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Alexander Silsky, reported to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense on Friday evening that since the beginning of today, Ukrainian troops have advanced 1 to 3 kilometers in all directions in the Kursk region. Russia summons Italian ambassador Soggias over report

Russia summoned Italy’s ambassador to Moscow on Friday over Italian television reports that parts of the Kursk region were occupied by Ukrainian troops, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement that a team of journalists from Italian broadcaster RAI “illegally entered Russia to cover the terrorist attack by Ukrainian soldiers in the Kursk region” and that Ambassador Cecilia Piccioni had received a “strong protest”.

Italy’s main news channel aired a report on Wednesday showing journalists being escorted across the border into Russia by Ukrainian soldiers.
