Today, August 8, 2024, the Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Agio Pereira, met with the Executive Director of Dili Airways, Lourenço de Oliveira, at the Government Palace in Dili to discuss the State Civil Sector Aviation.
During the meeting, Lourenço de Oliveira presented Aero Díli’s development plans and highlighted the challenges the company faces in the current market.
Minister Agio Pereira stressed the importance of the civil aviation sector for Timor-Leste’s connectivity with the rest of the world and for the country’s economic development, especially in the tourism, business and commerce sectors.
The Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers also reiterated the government’s commitment to improving airport infrastructure and supporting the development of the sector, as outlined in the Ninth Government Plan, to improve national connectivity and ensure that the civil aviation industry makes a significant contribution to the country’s economic development.
