Tegucigalpa – The National Human Rights Commissioner (Conadeh) recalled this Thursday that every threat and act of intimidation against journalists is a frontal attack on freedom of the press, expression and information.

“If we take into account that the enemies of press freedom have transformed this profession into a high-risk one, the attacks against journalists, social communicators and the union as a whole will not stop in the country,” he said.
Conadeh dismissed 123 complaints related to victims of threats and forced displacement, 71 of which were filed in the past 40 months.
Since 2001, there have been 101 murders of people associated with the media.
“The level of impunity endangers all of us, not just journalists but the entire population,” Officer Conard said. and
