Major changes in Senegalese administration: Diomaye Faye appoints 15 new governors
President Diomayet Diahar Faye chaired the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the Palace of the Republic. The meeting was marked by a wave of nominationsaimed at establishing new authorities to control the country.
During this council, Senego recorded 126 nominations. These strategic decisions are aimed at placing people trusted by the president in key positions. Of these appointments, 15 were for governorships across Senegal, including Pikine, Kebemer, Rufisk, Dioubel, Kaolack and nine other regions.
These appointments are aimed at strengthening the President’s authority in Senegal’s regions, thus ensuring optimal and centralized management of power. This redistribution of responsibilities reflects President Diahar Faye’s desire to consolidate his government by placing his loyal collaborators in strategic positions..

- Mr. Margate DiokThe Civil Administrator, salary number 514 686/D, formerly Governor of Dioubel Province, has been appointed Governor of Rufisk Province, replacing Mr. Abdou Hadre Diop, who has been redeployed to another post.
- Mr. Ahmadou Kumba NdiayeThe Civil Administrator, salary number 624 576/D, formerly the Governor of Lanero Province, has been appointed Governor of Qadiayeh Province, replacing Mr. Said Dia, who holds other positions.
