Major changes in Senegalese administration: Diomaye Faye appoints 15 new governors

President Diomayet Diahar Faye chaired the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the Palace of the Republic. The meeting was marked by a wave of nominationsaimed at establishing new authorities to control the country.
During this council, Senego recorded 126 nominations. These strategic decisions are aimed at placing people trusted by the president in key positions. Of these appointments, 15 were for governorships across Senegal, including Pikine, Kebemer, Rufisk, Dioubel, Kaolack and nine other regions.
These appointments are aimed at strengthening the President’s authority in Senegal’s regions, thus ensuring optimal and centralized management of power. This redistribution of responsibilities reflects President Diahar Faye’s desire to consolidate his government by placing his loyal collaborators in strategic positions..
