Egyptian artist stabbed mother 12 times while she slept

According to the media, “An Egyptian visual artist killed her daughter (30) over a disagreement with her mother. Her daughter (30) stabbed her (65) 12 times in various parts of her body, killing her instantly while she slept.”

She added: “The Egyptian prosecution is still investigating the incident as initial investigations showed the defendant was mentally competent, contrary to what she tried to suggest to the investigating authorities.”

According to the medical report of the accused received by the prosecution, she “did not suffer from any psychological disorder which could have prompted her to commit the crime without knowing it or under the influence of stress or psychological shock.”

The medical report also stated that “the victim’s mother died due to multiple stab wounds, cuts and severe blood loss in the vital parts.”

Disputes often broke out between the defendant, a visual artist who painted and sold paintings, and her mother as the daughter wanted to sell the family home to pay for her work but her mother refused, according to preliminary investigations.

The accused confessed to the incident before the prosecution and revealed details, emphasizing that her mother’s abuse of her led her to kill her by taking a knife from the kitchen and stabbing her 12 fatal stab wounds in the neck and head while she was sleeping, which led to her death.

The investigation stated that after the crime, the accused’s brothers discovered the incident and found their mother drowned in her bed, they tried to save her but she died, and they informed the police to help the family. The content was published by the “Al-Masry Al-Youm” website.

The prosecutor’s examination of the victim’s body also showed that the victim was a woman in her sixties, fully dressed, with a stab wound to the neck, which caused the artery to be severed, and severe cuts that caused bleeding, leading to death.

Initial investigations revealed that she committed the incident due to their frequent disagreements and the mother’s abuse of her daughter.

The incident began when the Security Service received news of the death of a 65-year-old woman with stab wounds to the head and neck.

After investigation and inspection, it was found that the perpetrator of the incident was the victim’s daughter. The procuratorate arrested her, moved the body to the morgue, and launched an investigation.
