Growing consensus says New Zealand is on the wrong climate track

Less than a third believe the country is heading in the right direction, a drop from last year.

Events such as last year’s Cyclone Gabriel have brought home the impact of climate change on people’s lives.

The change of government late last year appears to have undermined confidence that enough is being done to combat climate change.

For the first time, the IAG New Zealand survey found that more New Zealanders rated the Government’s response to climate change as poor (40%) than rated it as weak (40%).
