Tinubu appoints new heads of humanitarian affairs agencies – News – Guardian Nigeria News – Nigeria and World News

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of seven persons as heads of strategic agencies and programmes under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

Presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale said in a statement late on Tuesday that the appointment is aimed at providing the needed relief to the Nigerian people and ensuring the effectiveness of humanitarian and social development programs.

According to the statement, Dr. Badamasi Lawal, who holds a doctorate in education and was previously the Katsina State Commissioner, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA).

Mrs. Funmilola Olotu is a Project Manager at the National Social Safety Net Coordinating Office. She holds a Masters in Business Administration and is the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on State Lotteries.

Ms. Aishat Alubankudi, who has been appointed as the Project Manager for the Vulnerable Groups Grant, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Community Development and
The new homegrown school feeding project manager, Princess Adremi Adebowale, holds a Ph.D. She is the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Civic Engagement and a former local government chairperson.

The President also appointed Mr. Abdullahi Alhassan Imam, who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and was previously Chief Accountant and Bank Manager at Northern Dairy Limited, as Project Manager of the National Cash Transfer Office, and Mr. Ayuba Gufwan as Executive Secretary of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities.

Mr. Gufwan, who holds a Bachelor of Laws degree, is the Executive Director of Beauty Gate Centre for People with Disabilities, Jos and Mrs. Lami Binta Adamu Bello, Director, National Anti-Trafficking Agency, are the Executive Directors of the Centre.

Ms. Binta holds a Masters in Public Administration and has served as Secretary General of ALGON, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health and Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

The statement added, “The President expects the new heads of these important institutions and programmes to discharge their duties with utmost integrity and diligence to ensure that Nigerians, especially the vulnerable, become the sole direct beneficiaries of his administration’s refocused welfare programmes.”
