Debre Tabor, the capital of the South Gondar region, has been the scene of clashes between the government and Fano militants for the past three days, but relative calm has returned today, according to residents and local authorities.
Residents told VOA that businesses and government offices that were closed during the conflict have reopened.
Yesterday Monday, the Debre Tabor municipality issued a statement on its Facebook page confirming the clashes in the city and calling on what it called “those who lined up in the wrong way” to return to peaceful ways.
