On August 6, 2024, the endangered plant Amorphophallus truncatum, native to western Sumatra, blooms in the Botanical Garden of Comenius University in Bratislava.
The plant has the largest undivided inflorescence in the entire plant kingdom. According to the Botanical Garden’s website, this is the first flowering of this species in Slovakia and the second institution in the former Czechoslovakia to have such a rare plant.
Related to the unique flowering of the exotic arum Botanical Gardens The Comenius University in Bratislava opened on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, and is open until 10 pm. Hundreds of tourists are waiting to see this natural wonder with their own eyes.
The adult admission fee is a uniform €1.50, and only the greenhouse where konjac is grown is open after normal opening hours.
