Former President John Dramani Mahama has sacked his Vice President Mahmuduna Bawumia for offering to help Ghanaians buy mobile phones on credit.
Mahama, who will face Bawumia in this year’s general election, said Ghanaians actually need to work to live a good life.
He said if people had good jobs they could buy their own phones at will.
Mahama’s rebuttal follows some controversial remarks by Dr Bawumia, who said if elected, he would introduce a credit rating system that would allow people to buy mobile phones and pay for them in instalments of 1 and 2 cedis.
