Palestinian education: More than 10,000 students martyred since Israeli invasion of Gaza

The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education said that since Israel launched its aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank on October 7 last year, some 10,043 students have been killed and 16,423 injured.
The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education issued a statement today saying that since the start of the aggression, the number of students killed in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 9,936, the number of injured has reached 15,897, while in the West Bank 107 students have died, another 526 have been injured, and another 390 have been arrested.
The report states that 504 teachers and administrators were martyred in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, 3,426 were injured, and more than 117 were arrested in the West Bank.
The statement pointed out that 119 government schools in the Gaza Strip were severely damaged and more than 62 schools were completely destroyed. At the same time, 191 government schools under the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) were bombed and damaged, and more than 31 university buildings in 20 universities were destroyed, of which 57 were completely destroyed and 57 were partially destroyed; in the West Bank, 69 schools were damaged and 5 universities were repeatedly attacked, destroyed and tampered with.
According to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), since the beginning of the Israeli aggression, the occupation has prevented more than 620,000 students in the Gaza Strip from attending school, including 39,000 high school students, while most of the students suffer from psychological trauma and face difficult health conditions.
