Mexico City (apro) – At dawn, a child between two and three years old was found wandering alone on the edge of a federal highway near San Simón Yehualtepec, Puebla, wearing only pajamas.
The minor was reportedly spotted by a motorist on the road, following which the city police arrived to help the child and asked the minor questions including where he lived, but he was unable to answer.
Today, the state’s head of the Interior Secretary, Javier Aquino Limón, reported that the child had received effective help and was in good health. Aquino said the mother explained that the child left her home without anyone noticing.
“In this case, we can say it didn’t happen to adults, but imagine minors walking on the road at dawn. This is a completely irresponsible behavior. We call on parents to be more careful,” the official said.
In addition, the DIF and local authorities in Yehualtepec have launched appropriate investigations to determine responsibility and ensure that the minor is placed in appropriate circumstances.
The visual material has been shared on social networks in recent days and has gone viral as users express frustration at the baby’s situation and the questions police asked him.
