Russian Defense Forces training new recruits

The graduation ceremony took place on Wednesday, August 5, 2024, at the Camp Kassai military base in Bangui, the capital of Central Africa.

The ceremony was presided over by President Faustin-Archanche Touadera and attended by Rwandan Army Commander Major General Vincent Nyakarundi.

On August 4, 2024, Major General Nyakarundi also visited the Rwandan Army’s Mpoko Base carrying out peacekeeping missions in Central Africa.

The Central African Army troops who are about to join the army are the second batch, following another 520 cadets who will graduate in November 2023, all of whom have received training from the Rwandan Army.

During their training, they undergo various courses, including becoming military professionals, various military exercises and other activities assisted by the Rwandan Armed Forces in accordance with the agreement between Rwanda and the Central African Republic.

Rwandan Defence Force soldiers serving in the UN mission in the Central African country are carrying out a variety of activities, including restoring peace and security, protecting the city of Bangui and its suburbs and keeping the population safe.

Rwandan troops are also guarding the Central African head of state palace, known as the “Palais de la Renaissance”, in the center of Bangui. The troops are protecting President Touadera’s official residence in Damara, Ombela-Mpoko province.
