All three Dutch showjumpers at the Paris Olympics have qualified for the individual finals. The qualifying rounds took place on Monday in the gardens of the Palace of Versailles, with the top 30 teams advancing to the finals on Tuesday afternoon.
Harrie Smolders was the best Dutch rider on the Uricas van de Kattevennen track: his ride was perfect and fast, which earned him fourth place. Kim Emmen had a great race and her third ride on Imagine was also completely clear, finishing ninth. Maikel van der Vleuten dropped a beam with Beauville Z, which allowed the combination to finish 22nd, enough to qualify for the final, where everyone started from zero.
