Mr José Martín Chavarría Herrera, 47, and his daughter Duberling Sarahí Chavarría Benavides, 18, died on Monday morning following an accident at the Rabu Bridge in Siuna, in the mining triangle.
The victims were travelling in a black Toyota truck with license plate number MT 16-464 driven by José Martín Chavarría, who allegedly fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into the bridge guardrail.
Also injured in the tragedy were children José Nathanael Chavarría Benavides, 8; and Yoseling Tatiana Chavarría Alonso, 4, who were transferred to the Carlos Centeno Hospital in Siuna.
Acquaintances said the deceased was traveling from Rosita to Rio Blanco in Matagalpa to attend an evangelical rally when the tragedy occurred.
