BAMAKO, 5th August, 2024 (WAM) — The Republic of Mali witnessed the launch of the third Arab Poetry Forum, organized by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs in Sharjah, in partnership with Al Bayan Literary Society, within the framework of the African Poetry Forum initiative, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, with the participation of more than 20 male and female poets.
The forum was held at the Palace of Culture in the capital, Bamako, and was attended by Professor Lissana Drameh, Rector of the French-Arab African University of Mali, Dr. Abdelsamad Ahmed Mejia, President of the Al Bayan Association, as well as professors, students, lovers and connoisseurs of Arabic poetry from universities and colleges.
In his speech, the General Coordinator of the Forum, Abdelkader Idriss Megha, expressed his pleasure in organizing the forum, which he considered a milestone for Mali. He also expressed his gratitude, appreciation and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his tireless efforts for the cause of Arabic language and Arabic poetry.
At the closing ceremony of the forum, the participating poets and Malian Arab literary and cultural figures received certificates of recognition to thank them for their efforts for the development of Malian Arab literature.
